Indonesian Students Sport Competition in Vancouver

The Indonesian students that are associated into Simon Fraser university Indonesian Association (SFUIA), had initiated a sport competition aimed to attract the participation from all Indonesian students and people in Vancouver. The competition titled SFUIA Olympic 2016 was held on January 17, 2016 at SFU Burnaby Campus, involving around 150 youths from any higher education institutions in Vancouver, among others University of British Columbia, Langara College, Douglas College, Whatcom College, Corpus Christi College, Columbia College and Emily Carr University.  The competition itself is inclusive as shown by the numbers of participants from other nationals.

The chill air of Burnaby that reached 5 degree Celsius did not discourage the spirit of the participants to perform at the competition that stage basket, futsal, badminton and dodge ball.

The Consul General of Republic of Indonesia appreciated the initiative and supported the competition event that was proved beneficial to elevate the discipline, solidarity as well as maintaining health and friendship among Indonesian students in Vancouver. The event was started at 09.00 AM and ended at 20.30 PM, followed by the distribution of medals of appreciation for the winning participants.
