Indonesian Plush Toys Products Made its Mark in Vancouver

Indonesian products are renowned for its competitiveness, it’s more than just mere rhetoric as it’s reflected during “Vancouver Gift Expo”, a widely acknowledged trade exhibit in Canada, held from 18-19 September 2016. One of Indonesia’s product that captivated interests of Canada’s potential buyer, is plush toys. The other product is T-shirt, classically made by weaving technique (mixture of modern and traditional style), home decor made of nature friendly material and batik style lady bag. During the two days’ event, held at Pacific National Exhibition, no less than 300 visitors and prospective buyers visited Indonesia’s booth.

VGE is an exhibition that focus on gifts, apparel, handicraft, home decor and jewellery. The event is held twice in one year, in February for spring/summer products and in August/September for fall/winter products. The September’s exhibition had managed to attract around 1,600 retail buyers and 170 exhibitors from Canada and other countries.

In this year’s event, Indonesia was represented by Indonesian Consulate in Vancouver along with Indonesia Trade Promotion Center in Vancouver. The Indonesian vendors that took part in the event are Better Ford Ltd (plush toys), Citranti (textile/batik), South Sulawesi Province (jewellery, weaving, shoes), Casamia (home decor) and Eksotika Design (handicraft).

The success of Indonesia plush toys to have its market in Vancouver, will raise awareness of Indonesia considering the Vancouver market is very influential in British Columbia. During the exhibit, the order from potential buyers reached the nominal of CAD 78,000,-.
